Six Reasons to Visit Orlando in the Fall
Why visit Central Florida in the Fall? After all, once Labor Day is over, the kids are back in school and vacation season officially comes to a close. However, that’s actually the perfect time to plan a trip to Central Florida. As the temperatures cool down and the crowds disperse, the theme parks start to offer even more fun activities to enjoy. Here’s a list of six reasons you should visit Orlando in the Fall.
• Cooler Weather
If you visit Central Florida in the Fall, you won’t need to pack boots, scarfs and jackets because Fall in Central Florida isn’t exactly like the rest of the country. However, the temperatures do cool down significantly. Instead of toughing it out in 100 degree summer temperatures, Fall’s temperatures are more moderate and enjoyable. Average temperatures during the day are in the 80s with evenings dropping to a comfortable high 60s or low 70s. This means it’s cool enough to enjoy exploring the parks in shorts and sandals! Also, a huge bonus: the pools never really close in Orlando, so make sure to bring a swimsuit for a balmy day of swimming and sunshine.
• Cheaper Travel
Because the kids go back to school in the Fall, there aren’t as many families traveling for vacations. Consequently, airfares down to Florida can be much less expensive than during the height of tourist season. If you decide to travel in the middle of the week, prices may be reduced even more significantly.
• Less Crowds
When high season ends, so do the 2-3 hour wait in lines. If you hit the theme parks in Autumn, you can usually make it through all the rides you want in each park in a day. Also, with fewer crowds, you’ll have a better shot at getting a prime spot for viewing the parades. If you visit the parks on a weekday, they’re even less crowded because many locals will visit on the weekends.
• Epcot Food and Wine Festival
While a trip down to Orlando in Fall doesn’t include leaves changing, if you’re a fan of food, wine, and great music, Epcot is the place to be. Every Fall, Epcot’s Food and Wine Festival returns to delight guests. This event runs from mid-September to mid-November, and gives guests the opportunity to travel around Epcot’s World showcase where you can sample tasty cuisines and wines from all the different countries of the world. Plus, the event brings in nationally prominent performing artists each night to entertain crowds. There’s even an evening ½ marathon where you can run your way through the park followed by a celebration for all those who participated.
• Seasonal Décor
If you love Autumn or Christmas décor, you need to make a Fall trip to Orlando. Although the cooler weather doesn’t hit Orlando until later in the year, it doesn’t stop the parks from decorating to celebrate the season. Fall decorations go up in September and come down in early November, just in time for the Christmas decorations to go right up — making a visit to Central Florida the perfect way to get into the Holiday spirit.
• Outlet Shopping
Speaking of holiday season, what’s a better excuse for a vacation than prepping for it? With all the Outlet malls and shopping choices in Orlando, there’s no need to wait for Black Friday to come along. Plan a fall trip to Central Florida and get all your holiday shopping done early by taking advantage of all the awesome savings from the outlets of Central Florida.
