Our city of Orlando is well known worldwide as the “Theme Parks Capital of the World” because we have here the most famous and popular theme parks as Walt Disney World, Universal Orlando Resort, and SeaWorld. But Orlando, nicknamed “The City Beautiful” has much more to offer to its residents and visitors.
There’s plenty more to discover around the city and surrounding areas, including one of our “hidden gems” in our Downtown, which was included in a list of “12 Best Places to Live in Orlando”, from the Orlando Regional Realtors Association.
This is the heart of our city, a vibrant district that is a tribute to our rich history but also is still a developing region with excellent new developments, that are a perfect mix of businesses, residential, educational campuses, and recreational places. Is what we called a live/work/play community, with immediate access to 1-4 or 408 Expressway and less than 30 minutes away from most of the theme parks and tourist attractions. There you can find many interesting districts and neighborhoods, where you can buy, rent, or invest in a property.
Let me introduce first what is called the “Central Business District”. There you can find office towers with corporate headquarters, but also wonderful and modern residential buildings, or if you prefer, a charming historic home where you can enjoy beautiful Florida weather. You will enjoy the convenience of living in a beautiful place, that is also home to public art, theaters, museums, and nightlife. Some of them can be within walking distance from your home, but if not, or you want to go the way that our residents do, you can take the SunRail Train, or rent a scooter or a bike. In addition, the area has a free bus rapid transit, that runs seven days a week.
The Downtown has many neighborhoods to choose from, such as Mills 50 District and also the Creative Village, one of the newest districts, that includes educational, technology, and digital media sectors. There you will find the UCF Downtown (University of Central Florida Campus) in partnership with Valencia College Downtown Campus, which creates a game-changing campus in the heart of our city. Also, you will find the video game company headquarters, EA Tiburon. This is one of the world-known technology companies that choose to make their home here, along with other real estate firms, financial, engineering, architecture, sports, and health companies.
If we are going to talk about history, we can’t miss Lake Eola Heights, a designated historic district, and one of the oldest in Downtown Orlando. Most residential areas have stunning traditional homes and a mix of new and more conventional buildings. There you will find Lake Eola Park, with its iconic swans, and the swan boats, which are a symbol of our city. Just to mention another one, the Thornton Park District is another popular area, that is close to Lake Eola with plenty of new properties and many restaurants from casual to upscale.
In Downtown, you can find a mix of single-family homes, but most new developments are for townhomes and modern apartment complexes that offer something for everyone, singles, or family members of all ages. Don’t forget that this is also the place of Amway Arena, home of the Orlando Magic, the Exploria Stadium, the Orlando City soccer team, and the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts. With the diversity of Downtown residents and its incredible economic and business development, there’s no doubt that Downtown Orlando, is booming. If you want to be part of this beautiful opportunity to live, work and play there, just call us to discuss the options available now or projected for the future.
