What’s happening in Orlando during the coronavirus pandemic?

Friends of Viva Orlando Realty. As you know, we are experiencing historical moments due to the covid-19 coronavirus pandemic, something that has affected everyone. Many of you have contacted us to find out how we are in our office and what effects this virus has had on our city and on the real estate industry.

Orlando and corona virusOrlando has not been the exception to what is happening in the whole world. This pandemic is disrupting basic aspects of our daily life. Most businesses are temporarily closed; however, some others are operating remotely, including our office that is answering calls and giving follow up to our client’s needs, but taking measures to guarantee the safety and health of all, according to what is established by government authorities.

In our case, we have seen many purchase and sale transactions on hold or postponed, given the uncertainty that exists. There are many buyers and sellers who are waiting to see this end and we completely understand that.

On the other hand, there is a group of buyers who are able to invest in a property now or are confident about their job security, who continue to look for properties to buy. For them this is a great time to buy, as there is great inventory available. Also, for those who needs a financing, they will have the benefit of low rates.

As for our city, one where tourism is our main activity, and with the mandatory restrictions that have had to be imposed on travel, the thousands of tourists who were ready to enjoy their holidays had to cancel them and those who were here, returned to their homes. This is the time to be at home.

Our theme parks, which are the most famous in the world, are closed, all of them! This includes Walt Disney World, Universal Orlando Resort, SeaWorld and Legoland Resort, as well as NASA’s Kennedy Space Center, a fantastic attraction that is an hour from Orlando. Most hotels also closed, including the Disney and Universal resorts, as well as other attractions and large shopping malls. Also the restaurants, although for the moment they are allowed to sell takeaways.

Classes were also suspended not only in Orlando, in the State of Florida. Universities will no longer have face-to-face classes throughout the semester and children and young people will begin to take classes online so that they do not have to go to schools and do not miss their school year. We have curfew for Orange County and Osceola, effect from 11 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. This included Orlando and Kissimmee area among others.

We, like many other places in the United States and other parts of the world, remain in a State of Emergency, but we are sure of one thing: This crisis caused by the coronavirus will pass and we will recover.

Orlando homes for saleFor now the priority is staying safe and healthy at home with your family and follow the instructions of your authorities in each of your countries. We hope that the solution to the spread of this virus can be found soon, and we will be here as always, available to guide you further whether you want to buy, sell, or rent a property in Orlando.

We wish you peace, patience, and health for you and your family, and we look forward to next month hoping that we can share good news with all of you.
